THE TRUTH ABOUT MOVIE CAR CHASES
Have you ever suspected that high speed car chases in films were ever so slightly exaggerated and unbelieveable? That the way the cars behave on the road in the movie is wildly different from the way they would behave in the same circumstances in real life? And that if cars in real life suffered the same damage they did in the films, then they would be undrivable before the chase had really got into its stride? Well, you would, in most cases, be right, and popular BBC TV programme Top Gear, which has quite a following in Malta, had a load of fun proving this in an episode broadcast a few years ago. Enjoy the clip, which was filmed in conjunction with the makers of the movie The Sweeney in 2012, below.
