FOOD VS... GIANNI ZAMMIT
The Entertainer and Business Entrepreneur tells SWAG about his somewhat fraught relationship with certain foods, and how he's never cooked a poper meal in his entire life.
When and how did you learn to cook?
Never! I can’t cook to save my life.
So you never cook anything at all?
Well, I make a great closed toast – ham / mayo / capers / vinegar / and whatever the fridge has to offer.
How health-conscious are you with food?
I’m lactose and gluten intolerant. It doesn’t leave much room for overindulging does it?
Having heard all this we suppose it's useless asking you what you'd cook for a date to try and impress them...
I have quite a talent for ordering food off a menu and getting it delivered home – my dates were always impressed with that! But if I had to do that sort of thing... presentation is everything – my closed toast, if presented well, can seduce anyone… so what I’d do is create a superb atmosphere with the right music, incense (to dampen the smell of burnt toast), candles and a good DVD – the food would be just that extra touch required to score!
What type of food do you like to order when you're out?
I adore chicken - in any shape, size, colour or flavour. Barbequed chicken is the best though. I even get excited when I see a chicken running around a farm.
What type of restaurants do you like going to?
Nowadays the main eateries I visit are generally steak houses or something similar.
What's your least favourite food?
Seafood: bblleeeaaaagggghhhhhh! I like fish however – especially steak fish (swordfish etc) on the BBQ with some lemon. The slimy, crustacean families I detest however – and their smell too.
What is your favourite food smell then?
Mmmm, that's a tough one. Pizza smells lovely when it's cooking, but I think nothing beats the smell of freshly-grilled steak.
What are your eating habits?
I have a very small breakfast like a small sandwich, a light lunch - usually a chicken/rice combo, and usually a salad or carbs dinner. I do however nibble slightly on junk throughout the day: crisps or dark chocolate or my nails...
