The 29-year-old half-Maltese, half-Swedish international model tells SWAG a little bit about his eating habits and his signature dishes.

When did you learn to fend for yourself in the kitchen?

I learned to cook around the age of 16. I moved abroad so I had no other choice and wasn't prepared to eat take-outs every day!

What’s your modus operandi when preparing a meal?

I like to keep it simple. Chicken breast, fish and any kind of vegetables, especially the green ones. I love healthy food; in fact I’m very health conscious. You can't compete with what you eat…

What's your signature dish?

Oven roasted zucchini, stuffed with seasoned chicken breast, fresh tomatoes and topped with fresh basil.

Has your cooking ever been popular as a tool in seduction or courting?

Every woman loves a guy who knows his way around the kitchen, so yes, it’s definitely a winner if you can cook for your lady. One particular instance when one of my meals earned me points from my girlfriend was the day after I went to an Indian restaurant and had a dish called Palak Panner. I was so impressed that the next day I Googled the recipe and cooked it for her. Indian cuisine is not easy at all to cook because they use so many ingredients, herbs and spices. I have to say though, I was told my dish turned out to be pretty awesome.

What would you cook your partner as surprise, romantic treat?

I would definitely cook a seafood meal. My girlfriend and I could eat seafood everyday and never get sick of it! I would serve a lovely piece of seabass on a bed of quinoa accompanied with some nicely seasoned steamed vegetables. For dessert, it would be something light, such as a lemon sorbet or any kind of fruit-based dessert.

What type of food do you like to order when you're out?

Whether its fish, meat or chicken, I love almost anything that has been cooked on a barbecue.

What type of restaurants do you like going to?

Of course it depends on the occasion. But if it’s just a casual dinner, I love smaller, family-run restaurants, preferably by the sea.

What type of restaurants did you used to take your dates to?

Usually I would try to find out what type of food she likes and then decide from there. But if it were a first date, it would definitely be somewhere with a nice ambience.

What's your favourite food smell?

It’s definitely the smell of freshly-baked bread along with the smell of a nicely brewed cup of coffee.

What's your least favourite food?

Anything deep-fried, very creamy or floating in oil.

What are your eating habits - breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner…?

I like to listen to my body and eat whenever I'm hungry… which ends up being about five times a day! Besides that I also take a multivitamin and fish oil supplement first thing in the morning and also a protein shake after my workout.

What's your favourite food ever?

This might seem boring but I could eat barbecued chicken or fish day in day out.
